FVWBL Fantasy Football Heating Up
The Frank Viola Fantasy Football League is heating up as the regular season draws to a close. Only two games seperate the second place team from the seventh place team, and only a matter of points seperates those who would be in the playoffs and those who would be on the sidelines if the post-season started today.

The biggest gain made this weekend was Judd's Blue-Helmeted Stars, and their leap from 7th to 4th (and a possible playoff birth). Their 123-79 win over Adam's The Silly Gooses bumped him ahead of Mike's Tough2Tackle for the final playoff spot heading into the last two weeks. Mike's club had one of its lowest outputs of the season tallying only 46 points, a league low this week, in a loss to Shelly's The Snails. Dave's Shooters halted their slump by knocking off Jake's Two Minute Warning by a healthy margin of 72-48.

Rounding out the week's action was definitely not the least of the games. Bill's Red Flag Challengers and Kevin's ForestFires were tied for first until the Challengers' Peyton Manning pushed the club out to a seemingly impossible lead to overcome at 45-0 after the Thanksgiving tilts (including five points from kicker Mike Vanderjagt). Kevin's team rebounded nicely by putting up a total of 76 points, but fell short to Bill's 112.

The next to last week will feature four critical games. Red Flag Challengers will look to keep their top spot when they take on Tough2Tackle, a team fighting desperately for a playoff spot after holding the top spot for some time this season. Blue-helmeted Stars take on Shooters in a do-or-die game of sorts for both clubs. The Snails will look to stay on a roll when they take on The Silly Gooses, a game the Gooses must have. ForestFires and Two Minute Warning will also be locked up in a key match. If the Warning loses, they may find themselves on the outside looking in come playoff time.

For the time being, all old stuff can be viewed by clicking here. I would like to convert it to the new format at some point, but it is low on the priority list and may take a long time.
