ROSEVILLE, Minn. -- Jackie Wilking took a commanding lead in the female home run race en route to a Tournament 1 championship and a Tournament 2 runner-up finish.

Mike finally missed a 2003championship game.

Wilking, teamed with Judd, rolled to a 3-1 victory over Katie and Bill, a 2-0 shutout of Adam and Jake, and a 6-0 shutout of Shelly and Kevin taking the pair to the championship game.

Adam and Jake got on a roll of their own after suffering the loss to Jackie and Judd. Adam streaked to five home runs in eight at-bats helping him and Jake beat Molly and Mike as well as Shelly and Mike (who filled in for Kevin when he had to leave for soccer practice). Jackie would prove to be too tough for the Flaherty brothers on this occassion, however, as she helped herself with two home runs and recorded the 3-2 victory on the mound.

Jackie continued her successful day in the second tournament of the day as she and Mike cruised to the championship game with a 5-4, 9-inning victory over Becki and Dave and a 2-0 victory over Jake and Judd. They waited while Bill and Adam got hot after losing their opener to Shelly and Dan by a 2-0 score by winning the next five games and taking the championship by a 1-0 score over Jackie and Mike.

Notes:
*Jackie's four home runs were the most home runs in one day in the history of the FVWBL.
*Tournament One was the first of the year that Mike didn't participate in the championship game.
*Tournament Two was the season debut for Becki and Dan.
